How to Use Load Balancing in Tabit Kitchen
Overview
Load balancing allows restaurants to operate two or more identical stations with the same Kitchen Queue during peak times to meet demands. This allows the kitchen to "open" additional stations when needed and split tickets between them. Load balancing then routes tickets between stations based on the item count of each station.
How does load balancing work?
Load balancing uses two groups of kitchen stations, primary and secondary
The primary group will contain primary stations that are always be operating
The secondary group will contain the extra stations that only need to be operating during peak times or as needed (ex: Grill 2)
When working with load balancing, Tabit Kitchen will automatically ensure that both the primary and secondary stations receive a balanced number of tickets to keep service times prompt and customers happy.
By default, only the primary group is turned on and will receive all tickets

The expo station can toggle the secondary group on or off as needed.
Follow the steps below to learn how to toggle the secondary group on/off:
Select the scale icon
Toggle the secondary group
Select Save
When the secondary kitchen station has been enabled, the scale icon will turn green
The next ticket will be assigned to a station according to the number of items still being prepared at the stations. As seen below, the new ticket has been sent to the secondary group.
