Tabit PAD

V 11.0
New
1. Sub-Modifiers for advanced menu customization (AKA Mods on Mods)
Overview
Sub-Modifiers are a powerful enhancement to menu building that adds a new layer of hierarchy for deeper customization and complex menu setups. This feature allows restaurants to offer highly personalized ordering experiences, improve workflow efficiency, and address critical requirements catering to the advanced needs.
Use Case Example
Salad can be sold as an Item with modifications (with Feta Cheese on the side), and can also be sold as side for a steak.

Key Features
Deeper Customization: Offer flexible menu customization with up to 4 levels of modifiers (e.g., Item → Modifier → Sub-Modifier → Decision). For example: A salmon (item) with Seafood Sauce (modifier), that can be with different seafood items such as Shrimp (sub-modifier) which can either be fried or sautéed (decision for a sub-modifier).
Accurate Pricing: Modifier and sub-modifier prices are dynamically calculated and reflected in the final item price
Governance Integration: Inventory and alcohol restrictions now support sub-modifiers for precise control
Reflected across most platforms: Sub-modifier changes are displayed in the majority of kitchen tickets, KDS, receipts, and reports
⚠️ This feature is not yet supported on Tabit Order or Kiosk
How to set it up:
Go to Settings > System Parameters > Regional Settings > Order Settings > Allow sub modifiers

Business Case
Allowing customers to leave tips on orders or checks with a zero balance, catering to scenarios like adding a tip after the check is fully paid, using gift cards for tips, or leaving a tip on a new order (with no items or balance). This enhancement ensures greater flexibility and smoother workflows for client tip processing.
How it works
Client tip options: Customers can now add tips on zero balance orders via credit cards, prepaid cards, or house accounts.
Manual entry and customer tip flows: Available tip options include both manual entry and system-calculated client tips.
Dynamic Tender Selection: If multiple tender types support tips, the system prompts for a selection. If only one tender is available, the flow proceeds automatically.
Total Check = 0

1. UI enhancements for improved server workflow
Overview
We’ve rolled out UI enhancements to simplify the server ordering management and customer interaction by providing clear hierarchy indications of what needs attention, intuitive workflows, and real-time updates.
Key enhancements
Item group rules are clearly displayed: min, max, optional
Task completion indicators: Allow the server to identify which steps in the ordering process are complete and which still need attention:
Orange indicates modification or edits are required:
Orange contours and background show you're in "Edit Mode" and will stay orange until all selections are complete. Here the Sauce modifier has been selected (marked purple) but there are still other elements in the item that require attention.
All purple = editing finished
Interaction indications:
Green check = indicates completed mandatory changes
Grey check = Optional changes made
No check = no changes were made
Hierarchy Indications:
Items with modifiers now have collapse arrows to indicate they are editable
Stacked Text for Changes: Modifier and sub-modifier changes are displayed in a stacked format for better visibility (e.g., “On Side: Opelousas (Veg Cream), Lemon”)
Asterisk indicates modifications have been made in the modifier item (while editing)
These enhancements apply to all users, even if Sub-Modifiers are not enabled
2. Offline and suspended orders removed from Technician tab
To improve clarity and eliminate confusion, we’ve removed Offline Orders and Suspended Orders from the Technician Tab in the Operations screen. These records, often outdated or irrelevant, caused discrepancies and unnecessary complexity for restaurant managers.
Fix
Login Screen Freeze Resolved on TD Profile
When a TD order notification appeared during login on the TD profile, the PAD would freeze, requiring a force close or backgrounding the app to resume.
Fix: The login process now completes as expected, seamlessly transitioning to the TD screen without freezing when a TD order notification is triggered.
Tabit Gift Cards

V8.10.0
Improvement
Enhanced image management for gift card setup
We’ve added two new capabilities to improve gift card image handling:
Download Uploaded Images: A new download icon is available next to the trash icon for all image fields, to easily download previously uploaded images.
Crop and Optimize Uploaded Images: A built-in cropping tool ensures uploaded images meet the required aspect ratio for optimal display across clients.
A warning will notify you if the uploaded image exceeds 500KB, preventing unintended issues.
These updates apply to all image fields in Tabit Office, including system settings, rewards, digital wallets, and Gift Card Shop settings

V 2.7.0
Improvement
Improved split payment calculations
Business case
Ensuring split payment amounts are calculated based on the original order or check total, including all fees (excluding tips).
Before
Split payments were calculated from a total that included fees and discounts, leading to inaccuracies and imbalances in final order totals. Ex: With a $100 check and a $3 cash discount, $97 was split among the guests.
Now
Split payment options (1/2, 1/3, 1/4) are now based on the original total amount before any fee adjustments, ensuring correct distribution.
