Tabit PAD
New
Level up staff training with PAD Training Mode
Managers can now activate a dedicated Training Mode in PAD to let staff practice real workflows—like taking orders, applying payments, and printing bills—without affecting live operations.
What’s currently included in Training Mode:
Simulate server workflows including most payment flows, split payments, split checks, client tip flows, and driver assignments
Print bills and receipts — with “Training Mode” clearly marked (Kitchen tickets are not sent to the kitchen or KDS while in Training Mode)
Visual indicators across the UI to signal Training Mode is active
Training orders are cleared upon exiting the mode and don’t affect reports or inventory
For a full breakdown of what’s supported, limited, or disabled in this mode, check out our Help Center article.
Improvement
Improved Ingenico device connection stability and unpair guidance
To prevent accidental unpairing of Bluetooth Ingenico payment devices, PAD now provides better visibility into device connectivity and clearer troubleshooting guidance.
What’s new?
Disconnected but paired devices now display as unavailable in the device handler, with a warning to check that the device is turned on
New unpair confirmation modals guide users through reconnecting steps before unpairing
If the device is connected, users must confirm they intend to unpair
This reduces accidental disconnections and improves troubleshooting for Ingenico users.
Pre-auth flow improvements and error handling fixes
We've enhanced the Open Tab pre-authorization flow to fix UX issues, prevent bypasses, and improve error recovery. <>
What’s new?
The cardholder name field is now locked during pre-auth to prevent accidental transaction termination
If the card has no name, the field becomes editable after processing, allowing the user to manually enter it and complete the flow
If a payment error occurs, the pre-auth process automatically restarts, preserving tags and notes
Canceling a pre-auth also reinitiates the full flow with a clean state
These updates make the pre-auth experience more stable, secure, and user-friendly.
PAD now supports tax exemption for unpaid 3rd party orders
PAD operators can now apply tax exemption to 3rd party orders (ex. Olo) that have not yet been fully paid.
Before:
Tax exemption was unavailable for all 3rd party orders, regardless of payment status.
Now:
Tax exemption is allowed for unpaid orders (ex. "payment on site")
Tax exemption is blocked for paid or partially paid orders
Operators attempting to exempt tax on a prepaid order will see the following message:
Upon approval, the system recalculates tax and updates the order total
Fix
Transferring items between orders no longer fires pending courses
Summary:
Fixed an issue where moving unfired items between orders incorrectly triggered pending courses in the target order.
Transferred items now retain their unfired state, and no pending courses are triggered unless manually fired by the operator.
Improved handling of Ingenico payment reversals
Resolved an issue where PAD would crash during the client tip screen if a manual credit card payment was initiated twice in rapid succession, resulting in Ingenico reversal. After this fix, users now receive a message that the payment has been canceled.
Fixed issues blocking TD order closure
Resolved several issues that prevented closing TD orders when using delayed/future flow or printing receipts:
The “Fire Now” button no longer reappears after firing and paying
“Print Receipt” now correctly triggers POST/cash and shows “Mark Taken”
The ‘Execute’ flag stays visible and is greyed out when appropriate
Paid-but-uncashed orders no longer appear in the bulk close flow
Tabit Office
Improvement
Enhanced pricing visibility when editing Combo Group Items
Before: Combo price and default price only appeared in the overview
Now: They also appear when editing as a reference
The default price now appears when creating or editing a combo item, making it easy to reference the original item price

Enhancement
View order details directly from the House Accounts transaction history
All order details (suspended, open, or closed) can now be viewed from within the House Account summary. This streamlines reviewing orders paid through a customer’s house account.
Where to find it:
In Tabit Office, go to House Accounts and search for the customer by phone number
Select the order you would like to view and now the order details appear
Updated Tabit logo added to the map creator
Where to find it:
In Tabit Office, go to Back Office > Restaurant Maps
Select the relevant map and open the Images and Icons section
Now the updated Tabit logo can be found and added to maps
Fix
Fixes to Tip Out setup
Category selection no longer resets after saving Tip Out setup and the delete option has been restored

Only items that are currently available will be shown in the order history
Tabit Integrations
Improvement
Prevent duplicate item creation when building Middleware menus
To ensure cleaner third-party menus and reduce manual errors and duplicates, the Middleware Menu Builder now prevents adding duplicate items to the same folder.

No changes have been made to existing menus that may have duplicate offers
