Managing Delivery Regions

Overview

Delivery regions allow restaurants to effectively manage their delivery operations by clearly defining the locations they serve. Additionally, by breaking the total delivery area into separate regions, restaurants have the flexibility to activate or deactivate these regions as necessary, depending on various factors such as demand, logistics, or operational capacity. By implementing delivery regions, sites can ensure that customers are well-informed about where they can expect their orders to be delivered, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Creating a New Delivery Region

New regions can be added as needed.

Follow the steps below to learn how to add a new region to your delivery services:

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Tabit Order > Site Setup and select the Delivery Regions tab

  2. Select the polygon icon in the top right of the screen

  3. Click once to drop the first point of the new polygon and then continue to move and click for the boundaries of the new region. To complete the new region, the last point must connect to the first point dropped

  4. Now that you have created a new region, enter all relevant information:

    • Delivery Region Name

    • Order Timing

      • Regular Order - any orders placed during the current day of business

      • Future Order - any orders placed for a date in the future

    • Activity Times

      • Lunch Menu

      • Fri & Sat Test

    • Use Defaults: This will pull the information for the following fields from your defaults

      • Delivery Time

      • Min. Order Price

      • Free Delivery From

      • Delivery Price

  5. Select Apply

  6. Now you can see the new region on the map as well as in the list of delivery regions on the left side of the screen. Select Save

  8. Now you have created a new delivery region. It will also appear on the PAD

Editing an Existing Region 

Existing delivery regions can be edited to expand or change them as needed. Their details can also be edited, including delivery time, additional delivery cost, and more.

Follow the steps below to learn how to change an existing delivery region:

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Tabit Order > Site Setup and select the Delivery Regions tab

  2. Select the region you would like to edit and then edit the relevant information:

    • Delivery Region Name

    • Order Timing

      • Regular Order - any orders placed during the current day of business

      • Future Order - any orders placed for a date in the future

    • Activity Times

      • Lunch Menu

      • Fri & Sat Test

    • Use Defaults: This will pull the information for the following fields from your defaults

      • Delivery Time

      • Min. Order Price

      • Free Delivery From

      • Delivery Price

    • Edit Poligon

      • Allows you to make changes to the boundaries of the region

  3. Select Apply

  6. Now your changes have been applied to the delivery region

Hiding a Delivery Region

Delivery regions can be hidden which removes them from the map. This allows you to redraw them without requiring you to delete or draw over existing regions. Hidden regions will still appear in the delivery region list and the PAD, but not on the map

To prevent orders from being taken from a hidden region, disable it in Office or on the PAD

Follow the steps below to learn how to hide a delivery region:

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Tabit Order > Site Setup and select the Delivery Regions tab

  2. Select the Eye icon to the left of the region you would like to hide

  3. Now the delivery region has been hidden and the Eye icon has a line through it. This means it won't appear on the map

  4. Select OK

  5. Now the region has been hidden but will still appear on the PAD

Deleting a Delivery Region

Delivery regions can be disabled or hidden to turn off deliveries to that area, however if you would like to remove the delivery region from ever being available you can delete it.

Follow the steps below to learn how to delete a delivery region:

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Tabit Order > Site Setup and select the Delivery Regions tab

  2. Select the delivery region you would like to delete and then select Delete

  3. Select Delete again to confirm

  4. Now the delivery region has been removed from the map and the list of delivery regions on the left. Select Save

  6. Now the delivery region has been deleted from Tabit Office and the PAD
