Tabit Shift Manager App Overview

The Tabit Shift app makes it easy to manage your schedule and your employees' schedules from wherever you happen to be. Note that it looks and functions a little differently from Tabit Shift desktop.

This article includes a quick walkthrough of the manager functionality in the Tabit Shift app. (Employees who are not managers will see a more simplified version.)

Basic Functionality Walkthrough

Let's take a look at some basic functionality in the Tabit Shift app to get you started:

Home Screen

Upon logging in, you will see your schedule, a quick overview of your upcoming week, and any important notifications.

  • View your Schedule and Notifications:

    • The top of the home screen shows your store's name, like Tabit Steakhouse.

    • The home screen displays your weekly shifts (e.g., 0/2) , weekly hours (e.g., 0/17) , and important notifications, such as a "New day off request from Amy Kane".

    • Scroll down to view your upcoming shifts, such as Friday, Nov 21 and Saturday, Nov 22.

  • Viewing Coworkers on a Shift:

    • Select the employees on the righthand side of a given shift to view who you'll be working with.

    • For the Friday, Nov 21 - Lunch shift, the list of employees working includes Jessica Johnson (Manager), Jordan Taylor (Manager), Keenan Johnson (Server), and Amy Kane (Server).

  • Open Shifts:

    • If there are any open shifts, they will appear at the bottom of the screen. In the example below, you can see open shifts for Fri, Nov 21 and Sat, Nov 22 labeled as Unplanned.

Schedule Management

Tap on Schedule at the bottom of the screen to view the schedule for the day. You can easily swipe between days to see additional schedules.

  • Assigning Employees to Open Shifts:

    • You can also assign employees to an open shift by tapping the open shift and then tapping Add employee and selecting an employee.

    • When you tap an open shift, a menu appears with options including Edit shift details, Add employee, Audit log, and Delete an empty shift.

    • The schedule view shows the number of Open shifts (e.g., (3)) and the staffing ratios for roles like Managers (1/1) and Servers (5/7).

Reports

To generate reports:

  1. Tap Reports at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select the relevant report and time period.

  3. Then select Generate Report.

  4. This report can be exported to Excel from here as well.

Employee Management

Tap Employees to view all employees, make changes to their information, find their phone numbers, or add new employees.

  • The Employees screen allows you to filter by Active (86), Inactive, or Deleted employees.

  • You can see an employee's name (e.g., Amy Kane) and their Clock ID (e.g., Clock: 111).

  • You can + Add new employees from this screen.

Menu

The Menu tab contains additional functionality.

  • Under Menu you can find items such as:

    • My profile

    • My shifts

    • Schedule

    • Employees

    • Availability

    • Reports

    • Trades

    • Days off

    • Tips

    • Files

    • Reminders
