Overview
The payment health check helps you confirm whether credit payments are available on the PAD, understand what might be blocking payments, and follow the recommended next steps based on your payment provider
You can access the health check at any time from the card status icon. The icon reflects the latest health check result and may update automatically when the device reconnects

Some troubleshooting steps are available only for managers (ex. opening iOS Settings for certain Ingenico pairing errors)
Ingenico
For Ingenico, the card status icon reflects your payment readiness and shows the device battery status. The icon is also affected by payment gateway availability
Understanding the icon colors and alerts
Overall payment status
-
Green: Payments are available (you can take credit payments)
-
Red: Payments are not available (you cannot take credit payments)
-
Yellow: Payments are offline (offline payments or offline mode)
Rule: Red is stronger than yellow.
If the payment device is disconnected, the icon turns red — even in offline mode — because Store & Forward payments require a connected device.
Battery Indicator
-
The icon is green when charging or above 30%
-
The icon turns red at 30% or below
-
A red exclamation mark signals user action is required
Running a payment health check, Ingenico
-
Tap the card status icon
-
Wait for the loader to finish while the PAD refreshes the device status
-
Review the results in the Payment health check modal
Low battery
-
Low: If the battery is below 31% and the device is not charging, you may still be able to take payments, but the icon shows an alert so you can charge the device before it disconnects
-
Critically low: If the battery is below 12% and the device is not charging, the device is considered not ready and payments may fail
