Various payment errors can appear when working with Tabit PAD. Learn about how you can solve some of the most common payment errors below.

Errors and Solutions

Error: Payment Service: This iPad is not enabled with Payment device. Please contact manager

Issue: Payment device is not enabled in Ingenico Device Handler

Solution: Enable the device by performing the following steps:

  1. On the PAD, under a Manager profile go to Operation > Technician > Ingenico Device Handler

  2. Under Configuration, toggle Device enabled to ON

  3. Now you should be able to take payments as usual.

Error: Transaction Error [4000] [Unsupported Request]

Transaction Error [4000] is a general payment error. The solution below should only be used for specific processors

Issue: Some processors, such as First Data (FDC RapidConnect), do not allow completed transactions (settled with tip) to be voided

Solution: Update the payment account configuration in Tabit Office

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Settings > Accounts > Payment Accounts > Credit and select the relevant credit account.

  2. Check the box next to Refund payment (instead of void). This will allow the PAD to cancel the completed transaction.

Error: Payment Login Failed - User login failed - Network Error - Please contact the manager

Issue: The card reader is failing to contact/log in to the Roam gateway

This usually occurs when internet connectivity is stable and PADs are able to communicate with the Tabit cloud without issue, but there is an issue reaching Roam specifically. This can be tested/confirmed from the PAD > Manager Functions > Offline

Solution: Contact Flyght Support to immediately confirm the root cause of the issue and discuss possible solutions

Error: Payment Provider Error: Host NSF

Issue: Insufficient funds on the card issuer account to complete this transaction

Solution: Use a different payment method
