Creating a Free Item Promo Code

Reward name: This will be used for reference purposes and reports

Internal comments: Optional

Display name: This will be visible to customers on all platforms that the promo code is active. The display name will auto populate when the reward name is filled in but can be changed if desired

Redemption message: This will be visible to customers on all platforms that the promo code is active

Enter the following, if relevant

Provider Name

Promo Value

Discount value: Select either % or $ and enter the relevant value

Items to include: By default, all items are included in the promo. If you would like to only include certain item groups, enter them under Item group

If needed, a new item group can be created by selecting the + Create New button

Under Advanced you have additional options for items to include by a specific menu, menu section, offer, etc.

Items to exclude: If desired, specific items, item groups, offers, menus, etc. can be excluded from the promo code

Sites: If there are multiple sites connected, select the relevant one(s)

Order types: Select the relevant order type(s) (delivery, seated, takeaway) the promo code will be active for

Platforms: Select the relevant platform(s) the promo will be active for

Rewards selection method in order

• Manually: Requires the customer to select the promo code to be applied to the order

• Automatically: The promo code will be automatically applied to the order for the customer

More Options: Additional restrictions can be applied to the promo code requiring the customer to add a specific item to the order to qualify, or redeeming or blocking the benefit when a specific item code is added to the order

By default, the promo code will be set to be available always and for all days of the week. To limit it to a specific time frame or specific days of the week, deselect one or both of the checkboxes. Then, enter the relevant time frame and/or days of the week and times that it should be available. For our Free Coffee Fridays promo code we will deselect Active for all days of the week and then select Friday under Select Day and then select Add

If desired, a minimum transaction amount can be set to be required for the promo code to be valid. Additionally, the promo code can be limited to a certain number of uses per order. For our Free Coffee Fridays promo code we're going to set a minimum transaction amount of $10 and limit it to one redemption per order

Promo codes can be single-use or multi-use

Single-use codes can only be redeemed once and must be generated after the promo is created

Multi-use codes can be redeemed multiple times, and as such only one code is needed for all customers who use it. When multi-use code is selected you will be required to enter a code number which must be between 4-6 characters long
